1. Rat pups emit ultrasonic calls during brief episodes of social separation. These calls have been variously described as “distress” calls and may be related to the separation cries expressed by the young of many mammalian species.

2. Ultrasonic call of rat pups are modulated by environmental stimuli such as ambient temperature, olfactory and tactile stimuli associated with the nest.

3. Calls are also sensitive to a variety of purported anxiolytic and anxiogenic drugs, including the benzodiazepines, serotonin agonists, and ligands at the NMDA-glycine receptor complex.

4. In addition to providing a simple test for the anxiolytic properties of drugs, this model may also provide new insights about the development and neurobiology of anxiety.  相似文献

目的 探讨潜水减压多普勒超声气泡信号的模糊识别方法。方法 根据气泡信号的频谱分布特征,构建f-f-△p三参量模糊算法,并通过减压病动物模型进行验证,同时对66例氦氧150m饱和-180m巡回潜水减压的数据进行检测。结果 在减压病动物模型中分别检测到I~Ⅱ级气泡(按Spencer分级标准),气泡数量6~113个/3s内不等;在饱和潜水减压资料中,检测到1人两次有I级气泡音,气泡数量分别为3个(11s录音)与6个(17s录音),与人工监听结果基本一致。结论 用三参量模糊分析方法充分借鉴了多年来人工分析所积累的经验,同时利用了计算机辅助分析技术,气泡信号的检测分析较为准确客观。  相似文献

Phonophoresis is defined as the migration of drug molecules, contained in a contact agent, through the skin under the influence of ultrasound. Several drugs have been introduced into the body by this technique. The design of a phonophoretic drug delivery system is in developmental stages in various research laboratories. Abstract – This study describes the early microbial colomization of teeth by the use of light-and transmission electron microscopy. Six dental students carried a total of 60 test pieces of unerupted enamel and root surface in intraoral acrylic appliances for 4, 8, 12, 24 and 48 h, during which periods oral hygiene was abandoned. Pronounced variations were recorded in structure and thickness of the pellicle across the individual surfaces of both dental tissues. Bacterial single-cell colonization increased the electron density of the adjoining pellicle. Micro-colonies of bacteria were observed in relation to enamel surface irregularities such as perikymata, while the distribution on root surfaces appeared incidental. Root surfaces were generally colonized by thicker deposits than homologous enamel surfaces although the structural composition of the microbiota was similar. Gram-positive bacteria with thick cell walls appeared in coccoid or rod-shaped configurations depending on the age of the bacterial deposit. These bacteria were further characterized by selective invasion between collagen fibers. After 48 h the complexity of the microbiota was increased by the establishment of new bacterial species in the superficial layer. It is concluded that the pattern and composition of the early microbiota on teeth is more complex and variable than hitherto assumed.  相似文献

Aquaporins (AQPs) confer a high water permeability on cell membranes and play important parts in secretory and absorptive epithelia in kidney and other organs. Here we investigate whether AQPs are expressed in the sensory epithelia of the inner ear, where a precise volume regulation is crucial. By use of specific antibodies it was found that the inner ear contains AQP1 and 4 while being devoid of detectable levels of AQP2, 3 or 5. Immunofluorescence and postembedding immunogold labelling revealed a strictly non-epithelial distribution of AQP1, confirming previous data. In contrast, AQP4 protein and mRNA (visualized by in situ hybridization) were concentrated in select types of supporting cell, including Hensen's cells and inner sulcus cells. Immunogold particles signalling AQP4 were confined to the basolateral plasma membrane of Hensen's cells and to the basal plasma membrane of Claudius cells and inner sulcus cells. AQP4 was also found in supporting cells of the vestibular end organs, but was absent from transitional epithelial cells and dark cells. Strong labelling for AQP4 and AQP4-mRNA was associated with the central part of the cochlear and vestibular nerves. Hair cells were consistently unlabelled. Our findings indicate that AQP4 may facilitate osmotically driven water fluxes in the sensory epithelia of the inner ear and thus contribute to the volume and ion homeostasis at these sites.  相似文献

A clinical study was carried out on nonvital maxillary central incisors to evaluate the incidence of postoperative pain following single-visit root canal treatment using three different instrumentation techniques. Ninety teeth from 78 patients whose ages ranged from 14 to 63 years were selected and divided into three groups. Each group (30 teeth) was prepared by a different coronal-to-apical technique using different instrument movement depending upon the technique employed: modified double-flared, crown-downpressureless and balanced force techniques. No difference was observed in the incidence of postoperative pain among the groups.  相似文献

本实验共用家兔17只,将20%的HRP溶液100μl,经肝门多点注入,其中10只家兔出现标记细胞.两侧T_(2-12)背根节内共270个,左侧占51.11±3.04%,右侧为48.89±3.04%,左、右侧差异无显著性(P>0.05).在T_(5-8)背根节内的标记细胞较多,占总数的59.26±2.99%,中、小型细胞共占94.53±1.60%.两侧结状神经节内的标记细胞共143个.左侧占53.15±4.17%,右侧占46.85±4.17%.两侧差异无显著性.中、小型细胞共占93.01±2.13%.两侧腹腔神经节内的标记细胞较多,计数其中2例,共582个,左侧占59.79±2.03%,右侧为40.21±2.03%.在迷走神经背核内仅发现2个标记细胞.  相似文献

Motor evoked potentials (MEPs) obtained by electrical root stimulation and F waves were used to examine the proximal nerve conduction velocity (CV) to tibialis anterior (TA), extensor digitorum brevis (EDB), flexor carpi radialis (FCR), and abductor pollicis brevis (APB) muscles in 40 humans. By subtracting motor latencies obtained by stimulating the peripheral nerve at the same point from the F-wave and MEP latencies, we could measure the CV over identical proximal segments. It was found that proximal CV to TA and FCR was significantly higher than to EDB and APB, respectively. Combining the data of the proximal CV to all four muscles in relation with axonal length resulted in a highly significant inverse relationship (r2 = 0.77). Thus the axonal length explained to a large extent the higher CV of the arm nerves and also the inverse relation between body height and CV. The distal CV was always lower than proximal CV; however, there was no support for an additional effect of this gradient in explaining the relationship between CV and height since it was constant for all body heights. © John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Summary In the present study a single case observation of myoclonus during sleep-wave transition was monitored in a depressed patient treated with the monoamine oxidase inhibitor, phenelzine. The myoclonus had a rhythm of 1 c/second and lasted for two years, the duration of phenelzine treatment. Myoclonus appeared neither during wakefulness nor during sleep, but at wake-sleep-wake transitions. This switch myoclonus was associated with phasic muscle hyperactivity during REM sleep.Methysergide a 5-HT suppressor, decreased the switch myoclonus frequency and the REM muscle hyperactivity, indicating serotoninergic involvement in the mechanism of phenelzine induced myoclonus.  相似文献
